I am fascinated by inspiration all around me
I spent my childhood in the countryside of the Vysočina Mountains. I loved meadows full of buzzing bees and shimmering whiteflies. I frolicked in the tall grass to the deafening chirp of green grasshoppers. My grandmother inspired me greatly with her interest in herbs and mushrooms. I will never forget how her eyes lit up when she found some. I feel just as radiant today when I can spend time in nature. I am fascinated by herbal and floral nooks. When I walk, I am inspired by all sorts of shapes that nature offers – there is probably not a day when I do not leave a meadow or forest enriched by beauty, peace and gentleness.

The HELSIGNY brand was born in 2018 out of a need to name the unnamable. Today, its focus shifts from inner worlds to the wild and raw beauty of the Czech landscape. My studio window opens into the heart of the Czech Highlands, whose variability and untamed nature are my greatest teachers.
From abstraction to living detail
While my earlier works were built on free abstraction and explosions of emotion, I am now guided by detail. I search for stories in the textures we often overlook: The structure of bark on ancient trees and the fragility of the first buds. The veins of herbs and the wildness of impenetrable bushes. The restless surface of water and the silence of deep forests. My painting remains expressionistic, wild, and free, but its roots are now found in specific fragments of nature. Each painting is a ritual of transformation – transferring the rawness of the outdoor world onto the delicacy of the canvas.
Matter, layers, and contrast
I work on professional canvases where the power of acrylic meets the boldness of spray paint. This combination allows me to capture the contrast between the softness of a petal and the ruggedness of Highland granite. I often incorporate fragments of hand-painted watercolors, which bring silent traces of another world into the pieces—like imprints of memory in the landscape.
